Amazed

amazed header

I used to joke around with my friends when they used to tell me, “Please don’t tell anyone else this, but…”. After I would hear all the priviledged information I would smile and say that  I won’t tell anyone what I just heard…I’d just put it on my blog. Funny thing was I didn’t have a blog.

So a little while ago I decided to start this Red Sea blog thing and have actually quite enjoyed it. Needless to say I don’t joke anymore about posting my friends’ secrets on a blog that I didn’t have.

Now it’s official, I’ve gone from 0 blogs, to 1 blog, now to 2. I have justed started an email devotion/blog site called “Amazed”. I’m really excited about it.

Hopefully those reading will be blessed and encouraged, but I also hope it will drive me to learn more about worship so I can keep up with writing new thoughts about worship every week. You can check out the blog here. Enjoy!

a Humbling Read

Thursday, January 8th, 2009

book_r38My dad had a knee replacement just the other day (it went just fine by the way) and I went to visit him in the hospital. I told him that I would bring him a book to pass the time. So I was looking through my library and I came across a book called “Reese Howells; Intercessor”. I’ve read it 3 times I think, but when I picked it up off the shelf I instantly began to recall all the feelings I had while reading this book. It’s about a man named…you guessed it… Reese Howells who lived a life dependant on the Holy Spirit. I don’t want to tell you too much except that after almost every chapter I realized how much I have to learn about God; it is a humbling read…all 3 times. You gotta read this.

Impacting My Family Tree

Thursday, December 4th, 2008

I’ve been trying to learn more about financial stuff lately. Bethany’s been teaching a course at church called “Financial Peace University” and it’s been really great. The major thrust of the course is really about getting & staying out of debt which I think is so relevant for today and especially for the Church. In one of the lessons, Dave Ramsey (the host) talked about impacting your family tree in regards to finances. It really hit home with me. I want to provide for my family; kids & grandkids for many generations to come. And I want to make an impact on my spiritual family tree by giving tons of money to people, ministries, my church, etc…

I’ve been listening lately to a roundtable discussion held at  Morningstar Ministries (one of my favorite places on earth!). It’s called the KBA (Kingdom Business Association) and it’s a prophetic look at the current financial situation; how we got here, where we’re headed & so forth. I recommend you check it out here. I think there’s a practical side of handling our finances that will impact the spiritual side of it.
