Thanks for writing about this and showing the scripture to back it up. I grew up where little expression was accepted and you were “weird” to do anything but just stand there and sing. I feel so much closer to God when I raise my hands to HIS but it’s still a little uncomfortable but now I have scripture to think of next time I feel the Holy Spirit prompting me to not only raise my voice to the heavens but to raise my hands in Holy reverence to my God and King! I’VE ONLY BEEN IN ONE CHURCH THAT PEOPLE HAVE RAISED THERE HANDS. PERSONALLY I FEEL YOU ARE CLOSER TO THE LORD BY DOING THIS.YOU AND I HAVE TALKED ABOUT THIS.SINCE ST MATTHEW HAS A GROWING PRAISE TEAM WE HAVE ATTRACTED ALOT OF YOUTH TO OUR SERVICE.THEY SEEM TO REALLY ENJOY THE MUSIC ALONG WITH THE MESSAGE AT OUR SERVICE.I FEEL IN THE FUTURE OUR CONGERATION WILL BE PRAISING THE LORD IN A JOYFUL WAY. Wow Dave what a great writing! The scriptures make some things so clear. It’s such a blessing to feel free in our worship and expression of love to God. Keep up the good articles, I am really enjoying them. I haven’t been able to come to church recently because of out of town, actually out of country family being here.
